As the name suggests, Slippery elm is slippery in form and obtained from the inner bark of the tree by the same name. It is a glue-like substance that is rich in sugars and polyphenols. The medium-sized tree is native to North-eastern Canada, Texas, Florida, and parts of Central America.
Slippery elm is quite rich in calcium, which is essential for strengthening the hair. The presence of Amino acids encourages the growth of strong and healthy hair. It is responsible for the creation of red blood cells, which helps in the delivery of required nutrients to the hair. If you are experiencing a hair loss problem, then slippery elm is the perfect solution for you. The presence of Iodine will make your dry and coarse hair feel smooth and shiny, thus reducing hair fall. The slippery gel will pass through hair fibers easily and make them slippery. This inhibits the hair from tangling, thus making them smooth and shiny. It will also protect them from further damage from the sun and heat.
Since slippery elm is a natural conditioner that is rich in nutrients, it conditions the hair very well. Your hair follicles get enough amount of essential nutrients that help in repairing the damaged tresses. Also, since no chemicals are involved in this conditioner, it leaves no side effects on your hair. You should always provide your hair with the care and love that they deserve. Therefore, using slippery elm for hair is the best treatment that they want as it makes the hair tensile. The fatty acids, polyphenols, and other essential nutrients present in the elm help in the treatment of dry and dull hair. The elm makes them smoother and shinier, thus adding to the volume of your hair. It also removes dandruff and treats damaged strands.
Conditioning Honey (Honeyquat) is ultra-moisturizing to both the hair and the skin. The quaternary reaction makes it far more moisturizing than regular honey, with humectant activity twice that of glycerin. With its low molecular weight, the penetration capability is exceptional, allowing it to penetrate the hair and offer long-term moisturizing benefits, shine, and smoothness while it softens skin and scalp with true moisturization.
Hair products that contain hydrolyzed oats are known to make your hair shiny, reduce breakage, soften and smoothen, and repair and protect your hair from damage. Hydrolyzed oat flour protein forms a coating on the outside layers of hair strands, which can make your hair feel and look thicker or volumized. Hair products include the following: cleansers, shampoos, styling gels and aids, and conditioners (both rinse out and leave in).
Marshmallow is a medicated, conditioning, mucilaginous herb that provides an abundance of ’slip’ that helps to nourish and detangle naturally curly hair. It works wonders as a natural emollient (moisturizer) when used as a deep treatment or deep conditioning.
Guar gum hydrates the hair by sealing in the moisture. It acts as a conditioner and makes hair smooth and shiny. It prevents breakage. It reduces frizz in the hair, protects the hair strands from pollution, and prevents static.
Panthenol is a byproduct of pantothenic acid (vitamin B-5). It helps strengthen hair, retain moisture, and improves the texture of damaged hair. Panthenol is often the main ingredient in many hair masks and conditioners
Watermelon seed oil is great as an emollient for moisturizing your strands and scalp. This ultra-light oil does not clog pores, so no dirt can accumulate on the scalp. It is also extremely moisturizing without being overly greasy. The abundance of antioxidants boosts scalp circulation and in turn, helps with hair fall.
Aloe vera is one of the best things to apply to your hair for growth stimulation and it also acts as a thickening agent. Aloe vera promotes healthy hair growth thanks to a special enzyme found in aloe called proteolytic enzymes. These enzymes effectively break down dead skin cells on the scalp that may clog hair follicles. If hair follicles are blocked with excess sebum, dirt, or dead skin, they won't be able to grow properly. Aloe can also help cleanse the scalp so more nutrients can penetrate the hair follicle, helping hair grow faster and more efficiently. Aloe vera has a similar chemical makeup to keratin, the primary protein found in hair that helps to moisturize, strengthen, and repair damage. The aloe vera plant is also an excellent source of essential amino acids, fatty acids, and vitamins A, C, E, and B-12.

Apply to hair where you need some “slip” and moisture!
